Alumni Reunions in Trivandrum and New Delhi, India

The Indian Alumni Chapter has been busy!

The Indian Alumni Chapter has had the pleasure of holding two reunions already this year. The meetings were delightful, with members remembering their college days and their shared experiences, and telling us about their careers to date. The events were made all the more special by the presence of Marianne and Tanja Kisseleff who were our guests of honour at each meeting.

The first reunion was held at the Hotel Samudra, Kovalam Beach, Kerala, on 3 April:

• Mr Reji Francis from Trivandrum, who graduated from Institut Hôtelier “César Ritz” (IHCR) in 2006, has just completed his internship at the Kiawah Island Resort. His next assignment will be as team leader of the Food and Beverage Department at the InterContinental, Dubai, United Arab Emirates;

• Mr Subrahmonyaru Narayanaru (IHCR 2005), who is also from Trivandrum, has completed a training programme at the Sheraton in Atlanta, Georgia, United States of America;

• Mr Ranjeesh Paikkattu Kavil, who was accompanied by his wife Sandhya, is presently working with the Muthoot hotels group and will transfer to Sarovar in Tanzania in June;

• Mr Jayaprakash (IHCR 1994), from Pondichery, has set up his own heritage hotel in the city;

• Mr Venkatesh (IHCR 1990), from Coimbatore, is Managing Director of the Annapoorna group of hotels in India.

• Benita Alfred Jones, Secretary of the Chapter, also attended the reunion.

When they were younger, Mr Jayaprakash and Mr Venkatesh spent seven years at the same school as classmates. The reunion gave them the opportunity to see each other again after 23 years!

The second reunion took place on 10 April at The Oberoi hotel in New Delhi:

• Alok Pande (IHCR 1988) is now Director of PNP & Associates Pvt. Ltd, Faridabad, India;

• Neeraj Chadha (IHCR 1990) is General Manager of India Operations for Hilton Hotels;

• Anubhav Sukhwani, who graduated with a master’s degree from University Centre “César Ritz” (UCCR) in 2003, is Manager (Food and Beverage) at Indiabulls Multiplex Services Limited in Gurgaon, India;

• Prateek Gujral (UCCR 2004) is Area Manager for India and the Subcontinent for Orion Hotel Schools;

• Belgodu Mithun works at Sandhya Lodge, Bangalore, India;

• Lokesh Thukral is working for Food Fiesta, an event catering service, in New Delhi;

• Mayur Maduri (IHCR 2004) is Assistant Manager (Food and Beverage Service) at The Oberoi hotel in New Delhi.

Also at the reunion were Elizabeth Jaunch from Germany and her mother. Elizabeth, who has just completed her finishing school at Ooty, India, will be joining “César Ritz” Colleges in Switzerland next year.

Everyone had a great time and said that such reunions should be organized more often!
